Spanish for international students

Target

The objective of the ELE Line is to develop linguistic-discursive strategies that lead to the comprehension and production of oral and written texts within the framework of Spanish as a foreign language and as a second language based on the discursive genres of the academic, scientific, professional and literary fields of the foreign or indigenous community, whether native or visitor to the University and its different campuses and branches.

Spanish as a foreign language

The ELE line is responsible for the management of everything related to Spanish as a second and foreign language. In order to meet this need, it proposes six strategies:

• Spanish as a foreign language courses (ELE)
• Spanish as a second language courses (EL2)
• Training of trainers or future teachers of ELE and EL2
• Spanish as a Second or Foreign Language Proficiency Examination Center

For more information about the strategies implemented by the ELE line, please write to the following e-mail address: ele@udea.edu.co

Spanish as a Foreign Language and Second Language (EL2)

Be part of our offer of Spanish as a foreign language and as a second language courses!

The offer of Spanish as a second and foreign language courses is focused on contributing to the development of communicative competence (ability to communicate) for non-Spanish speaking foreigners or indigenous nationals. This offer is based on the communicative needs of the students and adjusts to them in order to allow them to have a better competence at the moment of integrating into a Hispanic culture.

A total of 19 courses are offered, each consisting of 40 hours of class time. In the customized or personalized classes, courses may vary in number of hours according to the specific needs of the students. Our courses have specific objectives and themes related to linguistic-communicative and cultural elements. Learning takes place in the classroom in virtual or face-to-face mode, as well as in spaces outside the classroom in order to offer the student the possibility of being immersed in a Spanish-speaking environment and develop their communicative competence through the use of the language in a real context and in contact with native speakers. The courses are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
