Research groups and centers
The University boasts 247 research groups and 666 researchers recognized by Colciencias, Colombia’s Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation.
The various research groups at the University consist of faculty members, students and research fellows who are responsible for conducting advanced research on a variety of fields including agricultural sciences, health sciences, natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, technology and engineering, among many others.
These groups are made possible through grants from both the public and the private sectors.
Universidad de Antioquia currently has several research centers organized around broad substantive research topics ranging from natural sciences, economics and engineering to health and social sciences. As such, they draw into their research programs faculty and students from multiple departments and disciplines.
