The PIP magazine began as a class activity of an advanced group. The goal was to promote students writing skills through interesting and authentic tasks. The motivation and dedication of students was such that we decided to implement the activity in the program for all the students as part of their meaningful learning.
After the experience of the first edition, the “Special Edition”, we decided to create some parameters for both teachers and students to work together in this project. The main goal is “To promote students writing skills through interesting and authentic tasks”.
Nowadays, all the students of the program create written texts in groups according to the exigency and goal of the level. Each class publishes at least one work previously corrected by the teacher and selected in agreement with the teacher and the class.
We feel highly satisfied with what has happened with the “MagazinePIP”, as it began as a simple idea for a class, and now it is becoming a growing project in which all students and teachers are involved. In many ways all the participants have shown lots of interest, curiosity, and motivation giving us new ideas, suggestions, and asking for information related to the release of the magazine.
We give special thanks to all students and teachers from the program that have truly believed in and been concerned with this project, and to the administrative staff that has always supported this project.
