Diploma of homeopathy

The School of Medicine at Universidad de Antioquia offers a 4-month diploma of homeopathy. This program is designed for physicians and other health care providers with an interest in homeopathic medicine.

Program overview

Homeopathy is a whole medical system combining theory and practice to support healing and treat a wide range of conditions whether physical, emotional or mental.

The course equips students with the skills to practice in the dynamic field of homeopathic health care.

Grounded in the classical principles of homeopathy and supported by the latest in homeopathic research and development, students learn to holistically understand an individual’s reason for illness. Students develop the skills and knowledge to naturally and sustainably support the health of individuals. The course includes extensive clinical practicum experience under the guidance of expert practitioners.

The program consists of 200 class hours (160 classroom hours and 40 non-classroom hours) and will take place during four months, starting in July and ending in October. The course is delivered over weekly sessions running Fridays (4 - 9 p.m.) and Saturdays (8 am - 1 pm).

The curriculum consists of 16 modules including clinical practicum, workshops and case analysis, as well as the following core topics:

  • First prescription and second prescription
  • Management of acute diarrhea and acute respiratory infections

  • Gastritis, gastrointestinal bleeding, hiatal hernia, gastroesophageal reflux, and functional colopathy
  • Rheumatic diseases
  • Rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
  • Homeopathy & gynecology
  • Menstrual disorders
  • Dysmenorrhea & vaginitis
  • Homeopathy & pediatrics
  • Homeopathy & heart disease
  • High blood pressure & coronary heart disease (CHD)
