It is an exceptional space that integrates several knowledge areas (social sciences, humanities, arts, health sciences, exact sciences, and engineering) and gears them towards research and research-oriented teaching activities through innovative methods.

A wide and multidisciplinary scientific community takes part in this work: research professors who coordinate, lead, and educate people for research through the development of new projects and, especially, young undergraduate and graduate researchers.

SIU’s scientific and research mission effectively contributes to the solution of critical problems of our time and improves the quality of life of people in a comprehensive way, as well as the social, economic, and environmental conditions of our region and our country.
