The Experimental Science and Mathematics Education Research Group (GECEM) was created in March 1997 and was recognized as a promising research group in 1999 by Colciencias. The research group served as the basis for the creation of other science education research groups within the Faculty of Education at the University of Antioquia.
Objectives:
- To contribute to improving the quality of education in experimental sciences and mathematics at different levels of the education system, through contributions generated by theoretical and applied research that enhance teacher training in this area.
- To train competent human talent in the systematic production of knowledge and pedagogical and didactic innovations that enable the transformation of teaching practice in the areas of experimental sciences and mathematics.
